Beverly and Alyssa Samuel
Beverly Samuel and Alyssa Samuel are a mother and daughter duo who are long-term residents of Northern Virginia. Beverly retired from the United States Department of Agriculture as a National Program Leader. She developed an interest in diversity and cultural appreciation on a federal task force. She worked for more than 25 years as an Extension Agent. She received a Master of Science from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA, and a Bachelor of Science from Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, GA.
Alyssa works in management consulting for a federal government contractor. She received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. She majored in Sociology and minored in Media Studies. She enjoys learning about different cultures, writing short stories, and poetry. Make New Friends was inspired by their family’s life experiences in school, work, and the community.
